About Us

Who We Are

We are a small team of word game enthusiasts who got tired of playing the same puzzles on repeat. Waffle Game started as a side project and turned into something people actually look forward to each morning. That is the short version.

The longer version goes like this: a few of us were playing word games together during lunch breaks, complaining about how they either felt too easy or too punishing, with no middle ground. Someone said, “we could probably build something better.” We did not believe that at first, but we tried anyway.

The result is wafflegame.online. A daily word puzzle built around the waffle grid format, where rearranging letters is only half the challenge. The other half is thinking ahead, moving strategically, and figuring out how all the words connect across rows and columns at the same time.

What Makes Waffle Different

Most word games test your vocabulary in isolation. You either know the word or you do not. Waffle tests something different. It tests how you think when multiple words share the same letters, when one move affects three other positions, and when you have limited swaps to work with.

It rewards players who pause before acting. It rewards people who enjoy the feeling of a puzzle coming together cleanly, not just getting an answer, but getting there efficiently.

We track star ratings per puzzle, not just wins and losses. Finishing with zero wasted swaps means something here. A five-star solve feels different from just completing the puzzle, and that difference is intentional.

Our Puzzles, Built In-House

Every puzzle on wafflegame.online is created by us. We do not pull from third-party puzzle generators, licensed word banks from other platforms, or any external puzzle service. Our team builds and curates each puzzle manually, which means we control the quality, the difficulty curve, and the word selection from start to finish. When something feels off about a puzzle, that is on us, and we fix it. When a puzzle lands perfectly, that is also on us. We take full ownership of what goes on the grid.

Our Philosophy

We believe a good daily puzzle should take five to ten minutes, feel challenging without being demoralizing, and leave you with a small sense of satisfaction before you get on with your day. That is the experience we aim for with every puzzle.

We do not inflate difficulty to make you feel smart when you eventually crack it. We design puzzles where the solution is achievable but requires real thought. Difficulty comes from smart design, not from using obscure words nobody has heard of.

The Platform

wafflegame.online is free to play. There is a new puzzle every day, and we keep it simple on purpose. No accounts required to play. No lengthy tutorials. You open the site, you see the grid, you start playing.

We do offer optional features for players who want more, including the ability to track their stats over time and compare results with others. But the core puzzle will always be free and always be accessible without signing up for anything.

Where We Are Going

We are working on new puzzle variations, a weekly challenge mode, and better tools for players who want to dig into their own solving patterns. We are also looking at ways to let players share their results without spoiling the puzzle for others.

We take feedback seriously. If something is broken or annoying, we want to know. If you found a five-star solve path that took you thirty seconds, we probably want to know that too.
